Trichomonas vaginalis test

Instructions

Sample Collection:

• Insert the cotton swab into the vagina and rotate it for 20 seconds to ensure good sample collection. Then gently pull the swab out.

Prepare the test area:

• Let the contents of the test reach room temperature (15-30 ° C) before use.

Prepare the sample:

• Add 10 drops of test tube (about 560 μl) to the extraction tube.

Taking out procedure:

• Insert the used spin into the extraction tube and mix the liquid by rotating the swab vigorously against the side of the tube at least 10 times while submerged. The best results are achieved by thorough mixing.
• Leave the swab in the reaction fluid for 1 minute before the next step.
• Squeeze as much liquid as possible out of the swab by pinching the side of the flexible extraction tube while removing the swab. At least half of the reaction buffer solution must remain in the extraction pipe.

Prepare the test cassette:

• Throw the swab into a suitable container trash can then mount the extraction tip on the extraction pipe.
• Remove the test cassette from its sealed bag and place it on a clean and flat surface. Perform the test within one hour for best result.

Add the sample to the test cassette:

• Add 3 drops of the extracted sample from the extraction stub to the sample well (S) to the test cassette. Avoid catching air bubbles in the sample well and do not add resolution in the observation window.

Read the result:

• Wait for colored lines to appear. The result must be read after 15 minutes. Do not interpret the results after 20 minutes.

Trichomonias are a frequent but treatable STDs caused by the parasite trichomonas vaginalis.

Many infected, have no symptoms of trichomonias. The infection is most frequent in women and can spread through unprotected sex.

Symptoms are not always prominent, but when they appear, the symptoms usually include irritation and discharge.

An untreated trichomonas vaginalis infection increase the risk of acquiring other STDs.

Trichomonas are diagnosed through testing and treated effectively with medication.

People outside the risk zone often have long -term monogamous conditions and/or use a condom.
