FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How does the vitamin D test work?
The vitamin D test is easy to use and provides a result in a short time. The test comes with simple instructions that guide you step by step through the testing process.
In medicine, 25-hydroxyvitamin D is the most important form of vitamin D in the body. Therefore, the overall vitamin D status can be indicated by measuring the level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D.
A 25-hydroxyvitamin D level of less than 30 ng/ml in the case of a positive result may indicate vitamin D deficiency.
When should you test for vitamin D deficiency?
It may be a good idea to test for vitamin D deficiency if you experience symptoms of low vitamin D levels.
Here, the vitamin D test is a smart tool that can be used to monitor your vitamin D levels and help determine whether you should take vitamin D supplements.
This vitamin D test can be used at any time of the day.
Can the result be wrong?
The results are accurate as long as the instructions are followed carefully.
However, the result may be incorrect if the test cassette becomes wet before the test is performed.
The test result may also be incorrect if the amount of blood dispensed into the sample well is insufficient, or if the number of drops of reagent is higher or lower than specified in the instructions for use.
The included capillary pipette in the box makes it possible to ensure that the collected blood volume is correct.
Due to the immunological principles involved, there is also a risk of false results in rare cases.
How do I interpret the test if the color and intensity of the lines are different?
Look at the illustration and compare the intensity of the T line with the “vitamin D color chart” included in the kit.
Will the result be reliable if I read it after 20 minutes?
No. The result must be read 10 minutes after adding the buffer. The result is unreliable after 20 minutes.
What should I do if my test shows that I have a low vitamin D level?
If you get a negative result, it means that the vitamin D level in your blood is less than 30 ng/ml.
You should consult a doctor to show him/her the test result. The doctor will then decide whether further analysis is needed.
What should I do if I get a positive result?
If you get a positive result, it means that your vitamin D level is higher than or equal to 30 ng/ml and within the normal range.
Although cases of excessively high vitamin D levels are rare, they cannot be ruled out solely on the basis of your test result.
If your symptoms persist, it is recommended that you contact a doctor.
