Chembio DPP® HIV-Syphilis Assay – one test, two diseases, high precision

Chembio DPP® HIV-Syphilis Assay is a CE-marked professional rapid test for use in Europe. The test is designed to detect antibodies against both HIV-1/2 and Treponema pallidum (syphilis) in a single cassette. This allows healthcare professionals to screen for two serious infections simultaneously and obtain reliable results directly at the point of care.

Function and method

The test is based on Dual Path Platform® (DPP®) technology, which separates sample and reagent to ensure a clear and precise signal. Only a small amount of blood is required (approx. 10 µl), and the test can be performed on fingerstick or venous whole blood as well as plasma. The procedure takes about 15 minutes, and an integrated control line ensures correct test performance. The result can be read visually or with Chembio’s DPP® Micro Reader, which provides a more objective assessment.

Performance and accuracy

Clinical data show that the test has a sensitivity and specificity of around 99% for HIV and around 95% for syphilis. These results mean that the DPP® HIV-Syphilis Assay is comparable to laboratory-based methods and is suitable for use in screening programs and clinical settings in Europe.

Intended use
