Gonoré is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. It is a bacterial infection that spreads by vaginal, oral or anal sex with a gonoré -infected person.
Gonoré can infect both men and women, but is most common in young people aged 15-24 years.

Annual gonoré tests are recommended for all sexually active persons under the age of 25. It is also recommended for sexually active older women and men with certain risk factors.

Risk factors for Gonoresmitte include:

- to have more sex partners
- Former gonoré infection
- to have other STDs
- Having a sex partner with a STD
- not to use condoms consistently or correctly

What do you do if you are positive?

If the test is positive for gonorrhea, you have several options for being treated for the STD. The first -choice treatment is a one -time injection with antibiotics. Gonorrhea can be treated by your GP, but can also be treated in a venerological clinic. It is free to be treated for gonorrhea in a venerological clinic.
